GLAZING UNITS

One of the main elements of any PVC window are panes. Depending on the size, construction and division into parts, the surface of a pane can constitute from 25% to 95% of its total area. Depending on the individual needs of buyers, modern windows can be glazed with one- as well as two-, or even three-chamber glazing units with strictly defined and tested properties.

ONE-, TWO-, AND THREE-CHAMBER THERMAL INSULATED GLASSES

In a moderate and cold climate, which prevails in Poland, one of the most important functions that a modern window has to provide is thermal insulation. In other words, not only is a window pane to prevent excessive escaping of the heat from the rooms, but also should let light and solar energy in, thanks to which we will receive additional, natural warmth.

Modern panes are covered with low-emission coatings from nobel metal oxides, whose task is to pass as much light and solar energy as possible while blocking the escape of heat from the rooms. Thanks to the functioning of such coatings, the consumption of electricity and heat is reduced, and in the end, the bills decrease significantly.

Using modern double-chamber panes with low-emission coatings, we get free, ecological energy that helps in heating the interior. Poor insolation means that glass and windows are expected to have high light transmittance and high natural solar heat penetration (especially in winter) inside the rooms. On the other hand, they are supposed to prevent excessive heat escape from the rooms, ensuring a constant and comfortable temperature as well as savings in heating.

Thermal insulated glazing units consist of two, three or four panes, from which one, two or three are thermofloat panes with an invisible layer of nobel metal combination (the so-called low-emission coating). A thin, invisible to the eye thermal insulation layer, transmits light and solar energy into the interior. At the same time, it prevents the passage of heat from the room to the outside. In the space between the panes there is a noble gas, argon or krypton, which additionally decreases the heat transfer coefficient. The heat transfer of a glazing unit, marked with the symbol Ug, depends on the number of panes in the package and its construction.

SOUNDPROOF PANES

How can you deal with annoying and ubiquitous noise these days? An effective solution is the use of soundproof panes, which thanks to their construction will ensure adequate acoustic insulation. A soundproof pane is a glazing unit combining high thermal insulation parameters with very good acoustic insulation. On the inner position of the soundproof glass package, there is placed a laminated safe glass, consisting of two panes joined by one or more layers of a butyra or polyvinyl foil with acoustic properties (PVB (A)). The foil ensures maximum sound insulation and at the same time holds glass shards in case the window breaks. Where are soundproof panes most often used? They can be used in all types of joinery. The use of a particular pane depends on the nature of the noise that is to be suppressed (a different pane is used, for example, to dampen the sounds of a slow-moving train, and others to suppress the sound of fast traffic). Another place where this type of panes is used are glazed facades (including spandrels and glass floor slabs) as well as windows in buildings or apartments located in areas with high noise levels (shopping streets, express roads, railway stations, airports, etc.) and/or particularly in areas vulnerable to acts of vandalism. Those panes also serve as skylights and roof windows. The main advantage of this type of glazing is sound insulation at a very high level. It perfectly protects against noise and dampens the sound of raindrops hitting the panes. They also protect people and properties. They significantly reduce the risk of injury by glass shards and delay the intrusion of burglars into the room. Increased thermal insulation reduces heating costs while protecting the environment. In addition, soundproof panes protect against UV rays by significantly reducing the transmission of UV radiation.

SAFE PANES

Safe panes provide protection against injury wherever, due to the conditions of use, is a risk of window breakage and people are within the reach of the glass splinters (hospitals, schools, nurseries, storefronts). In PVC windows, first of all, laminated or tempered safe panes are used. Safe panes can be divided into several different classes. In the class O1; O2: P1A; these panes protect against injury when breaking the pane. They make it difficult to break the pane when the window or door is suddenly closed. In the P2A class; they fulfill all the above functions, additionally being able to provide temporary protection when attempting to break in without preparation. This type of panes is most often used for glazing elevations, windows, and external buildings in situations where there is a need to secure property. In addition, they are used in public buildings, commercial premises, office buildings. They are also used in housing construction and in those buildings that require a particularly high level of security.
